Wishful thinking at Saints |
Lead | |
|
The Pledge Season Ticket asks for supporters to re-new their season ticket at last seasons levels. In return the club not only pledges to return to the Premiership at the first time of asking but also guarantees that there will be a price freeze when we embark on the 2008/09 Premiership campaign.
Hands up, who else would like to see them fail?! |

Of they're going stratight back up.
Anyone out there who thinks they're, not is living the cosy world of rugby dreamland. Agreed - every team they play next season will be treating it as the biggest game of the year, but they will stroll this league and go back stronger just like Quinns and Leeds. It's called a parachute payment and a Barwell. Having said that, do you think we should remind Mr. Barwell that the last time they were promoted back the Premiership, he said that the Saints had won "The King of the Dimbos" league. Wonder why people think the Premiership clubs are up their own ar5es?? |

I seem to remember that Quins did the same sort of deal with not so much approbation, makes sense commercially, whether you think it is pompous is another matter.

Is there where I start winding up all the Saints fans or do I stick with just winding up the Quins fans every so often

And the Saints marketing tag is Loyaty Commitment Belief - a radical new slogan not in any way related to Quins Commitment Loyalty Belief.

Loy - n. A long, narrow spade for stony lands.
Maybe the Saints have got it right? |

It is not often I come to the defence of the Quins, but if my memory serves me right when Quins took the drop they offered to reduce the price of the season tickets in ND1. However it was the fans who refused the reduction and insisted on paying the previous price.
A rather different and somewhat more honest approach from management, which tried to appease the fans in a year of uncertainty. |

I don't want to see any side fail, why should that me an objective? I know of several clubs that have not increased their ticket prices recently. Whichever side wins, by playing rugby, good luck to them. |

I don't believe that Quins pledged to return straight to the premiership (even though it was pretty obvious). That is the bit that gets me, fair enough, ask people to pay last years price to get some extra income and make a commitment that if you return to the premiership you will freeze the price, but don't guarantee your return - that just stinks of arrogance.
Just like the take a rightful place back in the premiership (ala Quins), the rightful place is dictated by your positions from last season. If you ain't good enough for the prem then you shouldn't be playing in it! |

Price freeze... Have you seen the ticket prices at the Saints ground.. Tell you what I won't be going. I am aware my own club is raising its prices by 2 quid to 12 on the gate but theirs is just daylight robbery.
I think someone ought to tell them they in Nat1 now and drop their prices accordingly.                                         ADULT CONCESSIONS JUNIOR Tetley's Stand block D         40 40         40 Tetley's Stand B,C, E & F / Church's Stand S, T V, W, X & Y        30 30 30 Tetley's Stand A, G & H / Church's Stand R & Z                 30 17         13 South Stand and Q 24         17        13 Gordon & Shubbery T'ces 20         12         12 OUCH |
