Leicester players | ||

It would be interesting to know how many Leicester players have either been out on loan to clubs this season or have not played for the 1st team and are now moving on to clubs in Div 1. I get the feeling Leicester have fielded a Div 1 side this season albeit spread over 10 Div 1 sides.

I never saw Ryan Owen play for Nuneaton but I did watch him play numerous games for Tigers A league side, he was a regular try scorer, almost every game he played, his strength was undoubtedly his speed, I thought he would have been kept on by tigers, but as it is I think Bedford have got a bargain.

Luke Sherriff has signed for Nottingham from Harlequins. He has been on loan with the club since March and made an excellent impression.

this one started earlier, so far nobody called Wellington (or more accurately Wellesley) has turned up at Waterloo nor an Oswald at Moseley, Henry Morgan (if there is one) should be at Pirates but it really doesn't run very well, the best one was when Holmes and Moriarty played for Wales (or perhaps its apocryphal and they never made it into the side simultaneously), we do have a cricketer called Court in the Devon side but nobody called Bowler; none of which compare with Brian Johnston's immortal "and now the bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey".

In the early 1980's playing for Sheffield were Derek SHERLOCK and Dave HOLMES and Dave WATSON.
They played in the same team as Robin Goodliffe - whatever happened to him I am not making this up, I have evidence by way of programmes for the doubters out there |

McKay, Harding and Strauss, there's a back row to compare with any in the division. Bedford may be cutting back but not in this department. (Assuming Harding and Strauss are staying

Bedford Back Row | ||

Sorry to disappoint you Exeforever but both Nic Strauss and Sacha Harding are with us next year. There's been no announcement yet about Rory McKay joining us and I will only believe it when the club has officially announced it but it would certainly be an interesting back row.

Exeforever - McKay signing not confirmed on Bedford site yet, but Harding and Strauss are both confirmed to be staying.
We have lost Adam Kettle (no.8 ) to Plymouth though, so the McKay signing would make sense. Only saw McKay play once this season so hard to judge, but would seem to be an able replacement for Kettle. |

Typical isn't it! - just replied to Exeforevers post, as did Bluebut happy, and then find Bedford have confirmed the signing of Rory McKay. As you said, an impressive back row.

I can understand TR leaving the Bees as he seemed to be 3rd / 4th choice. He seemed particularly dejected at the last Newbury game, I assume being there in the capacity of 'travelling reserve' as he was not even on the bench I believe.
