First How do you know that I am female.
As I said in my earlier post, had it not been for the loan deals and the strengthening of the pack after Christmas, Bedford would have lost some of those games towards the end of the season. James Percival made a considerable difference as did Dan Cole. |

I don't think even the most die hard Pirates fan would predict we will finish above Saints next season. We will have a strong squad as we've made some decent signings but until the "Way Forward" has been finalised and it's confirmed there will still be promotion and relegation we are marking time, building a decent team to keep the crowds up, hoping to finish as high as possible. When the dust settles then it could be a whole new ball game.

Well Steve O. There are an awful lot of Bedford rejects in that squad you are listing. They were not good enough to win Div 1 in Bedfords colours, I doubt they have improved. Pirates to win the league next season, but denied promotion for some spurious reason.

There's nothing spurious about being denied promotion if you refuse to build a ground to meet Prem criteria and for that reason I hope Pirates don't win the League - a side which doesn't even attempt to be in a position to be promoted is a strong argument in favour of the ring fencers; on their announced departures and arrivals so far they look less strong than last season anyway.

First of all I would like to state that some of those postings using my name were in fact not made by me and whoever it is needs to find their own tag.
Peter Cook did not play to much towards the end of the season, injury I think. Dan Cole was in fact away on England U20 duty but made a huge difference when he played for Bedford. Having looked at Saints squad I am afraid I do have to agree that I got it wrong no one will live with that bunch of players. When they can call on the likes of Joe Ansbro to step up from the academy then I think the rest of us will be fighting it out for the other places. Good luck to them. As for Bedford, I still think they will be poor this season. |

Bedford do not have any big backers and therefore the budget is not very large compared to a lot of other clubs in the league and because of that they do not have the funds to buy in big names and will therefore always be limited in the players they are able to attract.

Yopungsters with a future start somewhere ie Dan Cole, Ollie Dodge, Tom Youngs, Ben Pienar, Ben Patson and big names inm their twilight days have to finish somewhere ie Chris Johnson, Craig Moir, Jon Phillips and Mat Volland etc.
It's not always money that finds the right formulae. Sometimes it's just an old fashioned rugby club with good values and good coaching/setup that gets the balance right - Have a little more faith |
