Agreed regarding Newbury & Nottingham; thought they'd do alot better from a league position & points perspective than they have. After last season's performance a top-half place for the Bees is excellent in my view. Lastly, can understand how the potential 'positives' for Cov. next season are tempered by many of the current squad having been re-signed.
Roll on next season. |

As an observer I';d point out that the poorest team to play at Waterloo has played there every other week.

Thomas,
I agree that Nottingham have been a disapointment in terms of results this season. Although we have had big wins this season they've usually been followed by performances that defy belief. Rarely have we been hammered, we just haven't stepped up to the mark when the signs have been there, so instead of a 17-12 in terms of wins to defeats, it's the other way around. We also have a points difference of plus 80, and the 4th equal highest bonus points total. All of which counts for nothing if we allow teams a head start and end up playing catch up. To me, most of the top 7 make fewer mistakes, where as we seem to play russian roulette rugby far too often. If we can carry our recent form into next season then we might gain the momentum required to make a top 6 position ours. Having seen several GP games this season, once you've got past the larger crowds, atmosphere and marketing, there have been some mediocre performances from both individuals and teams. Given the money that we are allocated, I believe you get far better value for money for the 'product' in Div 1 than the GP gives. |

Signings | ||

So if you have signed them why not announce them or are we suposed to be psychic and I would ask why is Ollie Hodge leaving Exeter - perhaps because he is a greedy ball carrier with a small rugby brain and a discipline problem to boot - he is tall though!

Evidently it was at the request of the players waiting until season was over before officially announcing them. The rumours have come from certain other teams happy to announce early signings and leavings.

Reading back some of the posts someone was asking if a Mr Andrew Green was at the Nottingham game last week. Well according to my mate who was at the Butts Park Arena last Saturday a few other Cov supporters wanted to know the same thing and one of them took it on themselves to ask Mr Green himself very loudly across a packed bar!!! As you can imagine he didnt look too impressed.!!!!

I know you like to "keep in" with the Management but why do you have to Curtsey ? (couirtesy) sic.
I know you said that you were involved in local education and I am getting a horrible feeling you may have taught my youngest, at least when I look at his results! |

Another I told u so season coming up

Just looking at the players we 've lost Geraghty-Johnson-Campton being some of the departed and the players we've kept Russell and co, the rumours of who we have signed OH etc, the colts side is going to be a link with Old Coventrians, and the development side well, if that comes off, the usual "come and buy your season tickets while we've still got some" because this seasons going to be "the season" we've been fed so much "bull" over the last 10 seasons, and usually around this time of year, "get your wallets out we,re here to fleece you time" still I will select the games next season I want to see all local derbies especially Saints living in hope, (How can AG afford all the quality players we have and the Brasso for Tom snr's suit of shining armour) Oh forgot! he's on the supporters committee so not a bad word. ex cov players playing in heineken cup this year Payne Perry Grewcock Goode Farani Pulu Christie others playing in premiership Hayter Grindall ND1 players rated at their clubs Gulliver Moore TO NAME A FEW we must have handled some emmense talent over the years, WHY cant we keep them and why cant we get the best out of them when we have them, and why was....no let's not go there the truth will out

Go on then Grewwacky...
|
So Grewwacky, which of the Coventry players who've not been offered contracts for next season are the rising stars which we're going to be regretting having lost, in a season or three?
Aaron Takarangi? Alun Wyn-Davies? Duncan James? Ed Binham? Louie Tonkin? Richard Siveter? Apart from Richard, who's had a good long time with the club, and suffered badly from injury this year, they all came in last closed season, and none of them have set the world alight so far. That's not to say that most of them haven't played to the best of their ability for the club - with such a tiny squad last season none had anywhere to hide, and none of them have been kept hidden away when fit, but I'd not predict any of them are the sleeping giants that the club should be trying to keep and develop. Tell me where I'm wrong with these players. Which of them are slipping through our fingers on the way to greatness? |

Sorry Mr Senior are we not allowed to say what went on in a public bar, to perhaps tell the truth to some people who had asked and were not there in the bar. Its not stirring as you put it its informing what went on. People are allowed to post their stories/opinions thats what a forum is for.Didnt realise it has to be only what you want people to say and of course not against your beloved Cov.

I'm afraid Ollie Hodge was a big disappointment for us, when he wasn't injured he wasn't impressive and ended up as last choice at lock. I wish him well and hope that you get more out of him than we did. It wouldn't be without precedent, Mark Gabey always played far better against us than he did for us.

Keiran Geraghty Great Potential Tom Johnson Best backrower we've had in a very long time Dave Campton Loads of talent just needs the right coach to find the button that turns it on every week As for the rest I agree totally |

But the point is - all of those you mention - agreed, all have great potential - CHOSE to leave (apparently/allegedly).
Not trying to be controversial (far be it from me etc. etc.), just saying it as it is (or appears to be - allegedly/apparently). |
